Early errors cost Tigers

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Corey Ray’s walk-off double with two outs in the ninth inning scored Colin Lyman from second base and lifted No. 6 Louisville to a 9-8 victory over No. 18 Clemson at Jim Patterson Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Clemson (24-12, 8-10 ACC) scored three runs in the first inning, then Ray’s two-run homer in the second inning tied the score. The Tigers regained the lead with two runs in the top of the fifth inning thanks in large part to two Cardinal errors, then Louisville (29-7, 13-5 ACC), who swept the series and improved to 23-1 at home, answered with three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.
