CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) Clemson kicker Ammon Lakip will sit out the first three games of the season because of an offseason drug arrest.

Tigers coach Dabo Swinney said Lakip, who was indefinitely suspended since June, will miss games against Wofford on Sept. 5, Appalachian State on Sept. 12 and Louisville on Sept. 17. Swinney said Lakip could return when Notre Dame comes to Clemson on Oct. 3.

The 21-year-old Lakip was arrested on June 6 and charged with misdemeanor cocaine possession, driving under the influence and refusal to take a blood, breath or urine test.
