CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) Clemson defensive tackle D.J. Reader is leaving the team because of personal matters.
Coach Dabo Swinney said Tuesday it's not clear how long Reader will be away. The coach says in a statement that Reader has ''personal issues he has to deal with at this time.'' Swinney adds that Reader has the support of his coaches and teammates.
Reader was a backup last season and was listed as a starter this fall. The senior started one game last season.
