CLEMSON - New rules can provide fresh advantages.
Clemson has been finalizing its preparations against Georgia (noon/ABC) this week, and plenty of new facets of college football have been added along the way.
One of those new rules has been the addition of helmet communication on the field.
The NFL has used this form of communication for years, with coaches able to speak directly to the quarterback, linebacker, and members of special teams.
Traditionally, it has been methods such as signals from the sidelines or wristbands with the playcalls to relay the staff’s choices to the players.
