On Wednesday, a former Clemson standout made his 2025 season debut after missing the start of the Major League Baseball season due to injury.
Weston Wilson opened the season on the injured list (IL) after suffering a left oblique strain during spring training while hitting in the batting cage, but the former Tiger and current Philadelphia Phillies infielder/outfielder was activated from the IL on Wednesday.
After being reinstated from the IL, Wilson got the start in left field for the Phillies in Wednesday’s game against the New York Mets.
He went 1-for-2 and scored a run after hitting a single to left in his second plate appearance, before being replaced by a pinch hitter in the sixth inning of the Phillies’ eventual 4-3, 10-inning loss to the Mets at Citi Field in Queens.
