After starting off in impressive fashion, 2017 Wando wide receiver OrTre Smith finally picked up an offer from Clemson.
Word came a day after Clemson co-offensive coordinator Tony Elliott was in the Lowcountry for Wando’s game against Fort Dorchester, which featured a few notable prospects, including 2016 offensive lineman John Simpson and 2018 quarterback/athlete Dakereon Joyner.
Smith caught six passes for 66 yards in Wando’s 56-0 loss. A day later, he got word of Clemson’s offer.
“I gave coach Elliott a call. He told me to give him a call after the game,” Smith said.
