Clemson offer ‘would mean the world’ to promising Tennessee prospect

Nashville (Tenn.) East Nashville Magnet athlete Jashon Watkins broke out as a sophomore last season, accumulating over 1,000 all-purpose yards and 11 touchdowns. He also accounted for 40 tackles on defense.

Some schools saw the big year coming. Just a few weeks after the start of his freshman season in 2015, in-state Tennessee pulled the trigger on his first offer. Jacksonville State, Kentucky and Vanderbilt joined the Volunteers on his offer sheet ahead his sophomore season.

It’s not hard to see why Watkins has attracted early interest from major programs and had early success on the gridiron.
