BLACKSBURG, VA – Tony Elliott knew his offensive gameplan against Virginia Tech was going to be different than normal, but it wasn’t until the game started that he realized how different it would be and adjustments were made as the game progressed.
Clemson defeated Virginia Tech 45-10 on a cold and windy night at Worsham Field, a night when the passing game was going to be tested and when the Hokies bled time off the clock at every opportunity. The Hokies employed the “sugar huddle” and ran the play clock under five seconds at every opportunity.
