Clemson K charged with drug possession to ‘miss some time’

Clemson kicker Ammon Lakip has been charged with cocaine possession and will “miss some time, as head coach Dabo Swinney told Aaron Brenner of The Post and Courier. Lakip was arrested last month on misdemeanor charges of possession of cocaine and driving under the influence and was subsequently suspended from the team.

“Ammon will hopefully have a chance to return to our team,” Swinney said. “At the earliest, it would be when school starts. But he’ll miss some time.”

Lakip made 21 of 28 field goal attempts and made all but one extra point attempt last season.
