DeMarcco Hellams is rated as a wide receiver by the major recruiting services but being recruited as a defensive back by some schools, including Clemson.
The four-star prospect from Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha Catholic was offered by Clemson in mid-February, attended the Tigers’ junior day on March 4 and has stayed in touch with co-DBs coach Mike Reed since.
“I talk to coach Reed probably every week or so,” Hellams said to TCI. “We talk about what playing for Clemson would have in store for me and we talk about more than football. We talk about how school is going, family and just life overall.
