After losing Mike Williams to the NFL draft, Clemson entered the 2017 season without a coveted big-bodied receiver. Diondre Overton and Tee Higgins fit the mold physically, however, neither were ready to perform at a consistently high level a year ago.
This led to the Tigers fielding an experienced trio of Deon Cain, Ray-Ray McCloud and Hunter Renfrow for majority of the year. While Cain and McCloud were certainly more coveted coming out of high school, Renfrow was the most productive a season ago.
Renfrow led Clemson with 60 receptions for 602 yards and three touchdowns. Mind you, the Tigers offense was heavily predicated on the run game a season ago.
