Clemson football has just four returning starters on defense from last year’s National Championship team.
Of those four starters, three of them are members of the secondary. As a matter of fact, you could make an argument that all four are members of the secondary.
K’Von Wallace (safety), Tanner Muse (safety), AJ Terrell (cornerback) and Isaiah Simmons (SLB/Nickel) are the four returning starters from what was the best defense in the nation last season.
Despite the Tigers having a dominant defense, there were complaints all season about the viability of the secondary and that back-end. As a matter of fact, those talks continued through the entire regular season and didn’t really change.
