The Clemson football program entered 2019 without much depth or experience at the tight end position.
The Tigers were losing a veteran starter in Milan Richard, as well as a valued blocker in Garrett Williams. In addition to losing those two veterans, Clemson learned that it would be without promising underclassman Braden Galloway, who would miss the season serving a suspension.
That only left RS Jr. J.C. Chalk and a plethora of true-freshmen in Jaelyn Lay and Davis Allen.
As we head into the 2020 Clemson football season, the tight end position has grown from being one of the biggest question marks on the offense to being an area of true depth.
