The 2020 Clemson football recruiting class picked up its 22nd commitment Saturday when 5-star LB Trenton Simpson announced that he would be a Tiger.
Simpson, a 5-star linebacker prospect, was just offered a scholarship by the Clemson football program recently, but immediately knew where he wanted to go to school.
The Charlotte resident grew up a Clemson football fan and was clearly waiting for the offer to come in. Simpson de-committed from Auburn back in October and actually visited Clemson shortly after. The Tigers didn’t feel like they were in a position to offer him then, though, and he went on to visit UNC multiple times.
