Scott Van Pelt made an interesting point about Clemson football just a few weeks ago. Van Pelt, who is a widely respected sports analyst, said that the Tigers can no longer use the ‘little ole Clemson’ narrative.

The reasoning behind this is because of the fact that Clemson football is now a juggernaut. The Tigers are the premiere program in the nation.

People have taken notice of the dominance of Dabo Swinney’s program and how they’ve beaten the nation’s best year-in and year-out.

Though that argument is certainly valid, here are three reasons that the ‘little ole Clemson’ narrative still works.
