The Clemson baseball team overcame a 3-1 deficit in the 9th inning to defeat Winthrop 4-3
The Tigers followed up their series win over South Carolina with a dramatic comeback over another instate opponent. The Winthrop Eagles jumped out to a one run lead in the top of the first inning at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. They then added two more runs in the top of the fifth. The Tigers got one run back in the bottom of the fifth when Chris Okey was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, bringing in Reed Rohlman to score.
Winthrop held the 3-1 lead until the bottom of the ninth, when freshman sensation Seth Beer launched a two run double to right center, scoring Eli White and Chase Pinder.
