CLEMSON – Defensive end Ebenezer Ogundeko was dismissed from the Clemson football team Tuesday after being arrested Monday on a charge of financial transaction card fraud by the City of Clemson Police Department.
Ogundeko and an unidentified female were arrested and found with 28 gift cards in their vehicle with the intent to place money on a debit card, according to the incident report.
Clemson police chief Jimmy Dixon told The Post and Courier Ogundeko is awaiting bond.
While Ogundeko has not been officially expelled from Clemson University – the semester ended earlier this month – head coach Dabo Swinney did not wait to dole out his punishment.
