Clemson basketball coach Brad Brownell on Wednesday scored a major recruiting victory across the border in Georgia by landing a public commitment from 6-foot-3 Atlanta guard Chase Hunter. Brownell had to beat out new Georgia coach Tom Crean for Hunter who has strong family ties to UGA.
Hunter’s father was former Georgia star receiver Brice Hunter who was killed in 2004. And his mother played basketball at Georgia. He made unofficial visits to Athens but his only official visit was to Clemson last weekend.
“It was a great choice,” he said.
