Needing a win to keep the season alive Clemson sent out Jacob Hennessey. The Friday night starter for the season hadn't pitched since May 11th mostly because of arm fatigue. Unfortunately, the issue persisted as Hennessey gave up three runs on two homers to put the Tigers in an early 0-3 hole.

Clemson remained hitless until the 4th when Seth Beer deposited a ball over the right field wall to cut the lead to 3-1. The score remained the same until the sixth. With two on and two out Kyle Wilkie hit a double off the wall that scored Davidson and Williams to tie the game at three.
