Newly-minted Clemson baseball coach Monte Lee picked up a pair of commitments on Monday afternoon.
Virginia Beach first-baseman/outfielder Matthew Cooper was the first Monday commitment to the Tigers’ 2017 class. Charlotte catcher Drew Donathan was second.
“I went to a game this spring and I really enjoyed it, but then with all the coaching change, I finally came down again (Monday) and I love coach Lee. I love coach (Bradley) LeCroy,” Donathan said. “The campus is beautiful. It’s just the place for me. It all felt right, so I decided to commit there.”
Donathan also had an offer from Furman.
