Clemson defensive back Kaleb Chalmers was arrested and charged with simple drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a schedule II controlled substance on Monday in Clinton, S.C.
Chalmers, who was in possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, was released on a $1,000 recognizance bond. The Greenwood native is a redshirt freshman on the Clemson team and is expected to be a contributor at the cornerback position this fall.
Through an incident report obtained by The Clemson Insider on Wednesday night, the car Chalmers said belonged to him was parked alongside another vehicle in a vacant parking lot of closed business called Palmetto Lanes.
