Game 1: Clemson 6 VT 4:
Davis Sharpe earned his fourth win of the year by going six innings and striking out six. Carson Spiers closed out the game to pick up his eigth save of the year. Offensively, the Tigers were led by Grayson Byrd who went three for three with a second inning home run. The Tigers held a 6-1 lead going into the seventh, but the Hokies were able to claw their way back into the game, with help from Kerry Carpenter’s two run triple. But Spiers pitching proved to be too much for Virginia Tech, and the Tigers won the series opener.
