Clemson fell short of rival South Carolina, 5-4, Friday in Game 1 of its series with rival South Carolina.
The Gamecocks scored five runs in the top of the second inning and then held off the Tigers the rest of the night to take the victory at Doug Kingsmore Stadium in Clemson.
