Bailey Solidifies Himself as Weekend Starter

Clemson has found its third weekend starter.

BJ Bailey made his first career start in the series finale against Georgia Tech and the left-handed hurler made the most of the opportunity.

Bailey dazzled one of the ACC’s best-hitting teams, setting career highs with his 6.2 innings pitched and eight strikeouts. The graduate senior limited the Yellow Jackets to just one run on four hits and retired 10 of the final 11 hitters he faced.

“That’s an Omaha caliber team,” head coach Erik Bakich said. “With a loaded lineup. Great pitching staff, a bunch of bullpen arms.
