Before the season, the goal for the Bolivar Central High School (Bolivar, Tenn.) football team was to host a home playoff game.
Now, following a 5-0 start that has the team ranked for the first time since 1981, it is aiming for more.
“Now, I think our team goal is playing for a state championship,” Bolivar quarterback Woodrow Lowe III said during a recent interview with The Clemson Insider.
Lowe III is a big reason for Bolivar’s success so far. The junior quarterback has thrown for almost 1,000 yards with 13 touchdowns and no interceptions.
Lowe III’s grandfather is Woodrow Lowe, a former linebacker at Alabama under Bear Bryant from 1972-75 who was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2009.
