5-star Lawrence breaks Watson's record

Clemson commit Trevor Lawrence has surpassed former Clemson great and current Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson for first place on a prestigious list.

On Friday night, the five-star quarterback from Cartersville (Ga.) High broke Watson’s record for the most career passing yards in Georgia high school history.

Lawrence entered his team’s game against Chapel Hill Friday just 105 yards shy of breaking the Georgia career record of 13,077 passing yards held by Watson, who played at Gainesville High from 2010-14. It didn’t take Lawrence long to claim the top spot.

In addition, Lawrence is just five passing touchdowns away from breaking Watson’s Georgia career record of 155.
