Running back has always been a key cog in Clemson’s offense. C.J Spiller, Andre Ellington and Wayne Gallman have been just some of the recent successes that have gained national attention.
Clemson’s system relies on a well-rounded back that can run, block and catch out of the backfield, and although it has not found a running back in the 2018 class, coaches are already out on the trail scouting for 2019.
Devyn Ford, a four-star back out of North Stafford (Va.) High School could help fill the void in the Tigers’ 2019 class.
The 5-foot-11, 185-pound back visited North Carolina recently and said the visit “went great,” and it helped give him a new perspective to aid his recruitment process.
