2019 DB catches Conn's attention at camp

After camping at Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi State and Florida this month, Phenix City (Ala.) Central 2019 safety Ray Thornton traveled to Clemson to showcase his talents last week.

Thornton competed at the final session of the Dabo Swinney Camp on Thursday.

“I enjoyed being there and competing with the other players,” Thornton said. “Being coached by some of the best coaches was an honor. Also knowing that they had one of the best coaching staffs made me work harder.”

Thornton (6-2, 195) spoke with Clemson safeties coach Mickey Conn about his performance afterward.

“He said he likes the way I play, and I have good size,” Thornton said.
