Auburn and Clemson are both known for their high-powered offenses, but defenses ruled the day in tonight's showdown - and Clemson's emerged victorious.
The Tigers limited Auburn to an astonishingly low 117 total yards in the game, which becomes even more impressive when you consider that Auburn picked up 69 of those yards on their opening drive. After that, Clemson barely allowed them to move the ball.
Clemson's defensive line was the key in their effort tonight as they sacked star quarterback Jarrett Stidham 11 times. Stidham finished with only 79 yards passing.
On the flip side, Clemson quarterback Kelly Bryant provided just enough offense, rushing for two touchdowns that proved to be the difference in the game.

Bryant finished the game with 181 pass yards with 51 rush yards and those two touchdowns to lead Clemson, who didn't get more than 17 yards from any of their running backs.
Auburn's defense did more than hold their own, keeping Clemson under 300 total yards themselves. They also forced a pair of turnovers - one of which set up the offense in the red zone - but Auburn was never able to get the ball into the end zone, settling for two field goals on their first three possessions.
Kamryn Pettway was the only player who was somewhat productive for the Auburn offense, racking up 74 yards on 22 carries.
Auburn will try to bounce back at home against Mercer next weekend, while Clemson will hit the road for another ranked showdown against Louisville.
