Recently I realized why I enjoy going to Clemson games so much. I'm a sports fanatic, so I can watch games in solitude and enjoy them. In fact, last basketball season I watched Clemson playing Chapel Hill on my laptop during my English and music classes. But there is one thing that I enjoy at Clemson sports events that I can’t get from watching them on TV or by streaming them online.
Actually being at the games is great experience. And it wasn’t until I went to a Clemson Men's Basketball game a couple of weeks ago that I came to the realization that I LOVE THE TIGER BAND! I had this epiphany when I noticed that I was trying to find a seat where I would have a good view of the band, and then I realized I subconsciously do that at every sports event I attended.
I spent the whole game leaning over every couple of minutes to tell my friend to look over at the band. So after telling her why I find the Tiger Band is so dang entertaining, I figure I'd share my feelings with all of you also. And so I've comprised of the top 5 five reasons why I think the Tiger Band Shakes the Southland.
5.) Dedication! I have to commend these students for playing their instruments in full uniforms during football games no matter the weather. Through rain, sunshine, or snow the band is there and as dedicated and dependable as the mailman.
4.) The band there to cheer on many of the sports teams. Freshman year I saw the band playing at the Volleyball games, something I had never seen before.
3.) No matter what the band is always hype! They yell "Ahhhhh SIT DOWN" at basketball games when someone from the opposing teams gets benched; and are always animated.
2.) The foul shot distractions the band has at basketball games are hilarious! My favorite one is when everyone is sitting down acting all nonchalant and then they all jump up at once yelling.
1.) And the number one reason I think the Tiger Band is so amazing is because of their dance moves. Anyone who is able to Snap-N-Roll while playing a Tuba definitely gets my respect!
