Both Clemson and Maryland are looking to rebound from bad losses. They both possess offenses that can put up big numbers but have had a lot of mistakes in recent weeks. The defenses have shown promise only to back track. A win for the Terps can bolster their confidence. While a win for The Tigers keep them on track for a BCS birth.
Clemson's Offense vs Maryland's Defense
Clemson has struggled to get into any kind of rhythm especially in their last game against Florida State. Look for Clemson to run basic pass plays to start the game and quick passes to get Tajh Boyd comfortable and in rhythm. The development of a good running attack with Rod McDowell and Zac Brooks will be very important to take more pressure off of Boyd. A good run game will make the play action pass simpler and lead to deep pass plays. Maryland will bring pressure with blitzes. If they get good pressure with their front four, they can have better pass coverage like FSU showed against the Tigers. Also with leading tackler, L.A. Goree, out for the game, it won't be easy for the Terps to stop Clemson without pressure from the front four.
Maryland's Offense vs Clemson's Defense
The Maryland offense will have to find its way without their starting quarterback, two receivers, running back, and a senior offensive lineman. Caleb Rowe, graduate of nearby Blue Ridge High School, will be the starting quarterback for the Terps this week. Look for Vic Beasley, Grady Jarret, and company to pressure Rowe, who lacks experience, causing him to make mistakes. Without their 2 top receivers, the Terps will likely try to use the run game to get ball control. This game could be a good opportunity for the Tigers defense to get back some confidence.
Special Teams

Special teams played a huge factor the last time Clemson was in College Park. Sammy Watkins returned a kick for touchdown and last week he got his first reps as a kick returner since the Georgia game. That's bad news for Maryland. The Terps have lost kick returner William Likely. This will force them to find new weapons in the return game.
X-Factor
One of the big keys to Saturday's game will be how these teams will rebound from some terrible losses. Both had lofty goals and both have been brought down to earth the past few weeks. Early success will be a big factor in determining who wins Saturday's game.
Prediction
Clemson has always seemed to have a battle on their hands when they go to College Park. Maryland is a well coached team that will not lay down and is hungry for a win. But the Terps have a big task on their hands with nine players out for the year and 12 more out for the game Saturday with injury. That sets the Tigers up for a rebound game to get back on track to a successful season. Prediction: Clemson wins 45-27.
