CUTIGERS.com reported a rumor that the hit & run was linked to Kelly's dismissal earlier on Monday, prompting many Clemson Tigers fans to bombard Rogers via Twitter with questions surrounding the incident.
In a statement released earlier by Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney, Swinney explained Kelly's dismissal from the program:
“He has had a pattern of behavior that is not consistent with the values of our program. I hope he will mature and grow from this and become the man and player I know he can be. I wish him nothing but the best in the future academically and athletically.”
