Clemson football news today, the Clemson Tigers were forced to call local authorities on quarterback Chad Kelly, nephew of Buffalo Bills great Jim Kelly, in order to have him escorted off the practice field on Monday.
So says Marc Dopher of WYCC NBC News 4 out of Greenville, South Carolina:

Dopher also reveals that Kelly has been dismissed from the Clemson Tigers football team as well:
Now official QB Chad Kelly has been dismissed from the CU Football team for "conduct detrimental to the program" according to Dabo Swinney — Marc Dopher (@MarcDopher) April 14, 2014
Per James McCray of WYCC 4, "Kelly was benched during the second half of the Orange and White game after verbal altercations with head coach Dabo Swinney and offensive coordinator Chad Morris."
The natural of the "verbal altercations" has yet to be revealed, but Clemson Tigers head coach Dabo Swinney did release this statement in regard to his response to the incident -- "He has had a pattern of behavior that is not consistent with the values of our program. I hope he will mature and grow from this and become the man and player I know he can be. I wish him nothing but the best in the future academically and athletically."
The now-former Clemson Tigers quarterback was redshirted for the 2012 season, followed by a torn ACL in Clemson's 2013 Spring game. He did however return for five games last season, going 10-for-17 on pass attempts for 58 yards. He also added 16 rushes for 117 yards.
Kelly was originally slated to be in a three-way competition for Clemson's starting quarterback job with freshman Deshaun Watson and senior Cole Stoudt.
