The Clemson Tigers proved themselves to be one of the best teams in the country last year, and were just minutes away from winning the school's second national championship. This year, they're determined to make it back to the playoff and claim that elusive title. Here are three reasons why Clemson will make the College Football Playoff again this season:
3) Favorable schedule
Clemson does have to play Florida State in Tallahassee this year, but that's really the only game they'll be tested in. The Tigers are heavily favored in their season-opening trip to Auburn, and they only face two other teams who had winning records in conference play last season. The schedule racks up nicely for the Tigers to pick up win after win, and return to the College Football Playoff.
2) Explosive offensive weapons
RB Wayne Gallman, TE Jordan Leggett, and WR's Mike Williams and Artavis Scott, are all back and are poised to keep the Tigers' offense as one of the best in the country. All four guys have the speed and quickness to score on any given play, and that should allow Clemson to average over 40 points per game in 2016.
1) Deshaun Watson's greatness
Watson led Clemson to their first undefeated regular season since the program's 1981 title run, making opposing defense look silly both on the run and through the air. The Tigers wouldn't have challenged for an ACC title without him, let alone earning a berth in the national championship game. He's the most dynamic QB nation right now, and he'll hold that same designation in 2016.
