Yasiel Puig announces he tested positive for COVID-19, remains free agent, per reports

Former Cincinnati Reds outfielder Yasiel Puig announced via Twitter on Friday that he tested positive for COVID-19, and his deal with the Atlanta Braves that was reported earlier this week is off after the two sides never reached a formal agreement, according to multiple reports.

Puig, 29, became a free agent after the 2019 season.

In 100 games for the Reds last season, Puig hit .252 with 22 home runs and 61 RBIs.
