Brandon Phillips made 27 plate appearances during the 2018 season and hasn't been on the Boston Red Sox's American League Division Series or American League Championship Series rosters. But after a 17-season Major League Baseball career, he is four Red Sox wins away from earning his first World Series ring.
Phillips, a three-time All-Star and four-time Gold Glove winner for the Cincinnati Reds, hit just .130 in the nine games he played for the Red Sox, but his go-ahead, two-run home run in the 9th inning in his debut for the team in September drove in former Madeira High School standout Andrew Benintendi and himself and gave Boston a 9-8 lead in a game they trailed 7-1 in the 8th (and went on to win 9-8).
