It’s been a week since Major League Baseball began presenting its proposal for an abbreviated 2020 season to the Players Association.
Health and safety were the points of focus last week. The league sent a 67-page document to players that outlines the potential new realities of the sport amid the novel coronavirus pandemic. It’s considered the first draft, but the notable items include no spitting, no sunflower seeds, no chewing tobacco, no high-fives, no fist bumps and no hugs. Masks will be worn everywhere except on the field and showering at the stadium is discouraged.
