Michael Lorenzen is one of the most likable Reds, having delivered one of the few endearing moments of the rebuild, donating significant time to charity, and having a good amount of success on the field.
That field success has come in several different forms. He has shown promise as both a hitter and a pitcher, learning to do both almost exclusively at the Major League level since being drafted. This season, Lorenzen has a 2.45 ERA and has whacked the ball around the yard, homering in three straight plate appearances. If that wasn’t enough, he runs extremely well, too.
