On a day where Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Andrew Abbott admittedly didn’t have his best stuff, Reds manager David Bell stuck with him into the sixth inning during Saturday’s 7-3 loss to the Washington Nationals.
Ideally, Abbott would have been able to finish the inning. But after the rookie allowed an RBI double on his 105th pitch of the game, Bell had to turn again to a bullpen that has been taxed more than any other bullpen in baseball.
