Even after a three-hit game on Tuesday, Cincinnati Reds center fielder Nick Senzel finished the 7-6 win over the Texas Rangers with a .200 batting average in 2023. The former top prospect knows this is a prove-it year to show he should stay in the Reds’ starting lineup, and Senzel knows he’ll be judged by his results.

There were stages of Senzel’s career where flashes of potential were enough. Between 2019 and 2022, there were hard hits and clutch moments and highlight defensive plays that teased what Senzel’s future could look like.
