That’s exactly what Tyler Mahle did for Pensacola on Saturday night. And he was perfectly dominant in doing so, only needing 89 pitches to complete the feat. 69 of those 89 pitches were very nice strikes, and he struck out 8 BayBears on the night.
It was Pensacola’s first perfect game ever (it was their first complete game shutout ever, for that matter). At the time of this writing, it looks to be the the first perfect game by any Reds affiliate since 1994 (also, everyone go ahead and thank Kourage for that great stat that he begged us all not to quote him on so naturally I quoted him on it).
