Tucker Barnhart wins Gold Glove

It’s officially awards season, and while the 2017 Reds weren’t much in the standings, they’ve taken home the first piece of hardware as Tucker Barnhart won his first Gold Glove tonight. It was the Reds’ only Gold Glove out of 4 nominated players.

This marks the first time in the last 9 years that the award wasn’t won by Buster Posey or Yadier Molina, who also happened to be the other finalists this season. Tucker led the league in assists at catcher with 89 in only 121 games, at least 15 less than either Posey or Molina.

While Barnhart had a strong case, Reds fans had been getting their hopes up in other places around the diamond.
