ATLANTA – After Atlanta Braves All-Star outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. deflated the Reds with a game-tying, two-run homer in the ninth inning, catcher Tucker Barnhart stepped up for his pitchers.
Barnhart smacked a go-ahead, three-run homer in the 10th inning against Braves closer Shane Greene. The Reds’ dugout erupted after Barnhart’s homer and the crowd went silent. It was Barnhart’s sixth homer of the season.
David Hernandez allowed a solo home run to Tyler Flowers with two outs in the 10th inning but earned his second save of the season in the Reds’ 6-4 victory at SunTrust Park.
