Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Trevor Bauer tweeted a photo of Dr. Anthony Fauci watching from the stands at Nationals Park after Dr. Fauci threw out the ceremonial first pitch before Thursday's Opening Day game between the New York Yankees and the Washington Nationals, noting that Dr. Fauci and a fellow observer were taking in the action without wearing masks over their mouths and noses.
Bauer has said he won't be wearing a mask during a game because it would be hard for him to breathe.
Fauci's wild pitch brought back memories of Mayor Mark Mallory's errant ceremonial first pitch on April 2, 2007.
