The 2018 Cincinnati Reds swept a four-game series from an admittedly injury-riddled Los Angeles Dodgers team at Dodger Stadium on May 10-13, but that triumph pales in comparison to perhaps the most impressive Cincinnati visit to Los Angeles in franchise history.
The Reds were two games behind first-place Los Angeles in the eight-team National League going into a mid-August, midweek three-game series at the vast Coliseum. They won the opener, 5-2, in a game that featured right fielder Frank Robinson throwing Dodgers pitcher Sandy Koufax out at first base on an apparent single.
