Cincinnati Red Todd Frazier, a fan favorite, taking pitches from his brother Charlie at Great American Ball Park during the 2015 Home Run Derby. All three rounds won on the last swing. Cue Frank Sinatra's "My Way," Frazier's walk up music. The crowd explodes.
"It's a beautiful thing once you win and hear that music," Frazier said afterward.
Indeed.
Frazier's derby win was the highlight of that 2015 MLB All-Star Week, hosted in Cincinnati that year. With the 2018 Home Run Derby scheduled for tonight, we thought it would be fun to look back on Frazier's win, which still seems both surprising and inevitable.
