Titanic Struggle Recap: Marlon is the Word

The Good
–Rookie hurler Michael Lorenzen picked up his first major league victory tonight, so Redleg Nation offers the kid our heartiest congratulations. Lorenzen was solid over six innings, surrendering just one run on three hits; he struck out four and walked three. Hopefully the first win of many.

–Marlon Byrd went 2-5 with a double, a homer (his 4th) and 4 RBI. Byrd has now homered at PNC Park as a member of four different teams. The two-run double to the right-center field gap in the ninth opened the lead to 7-1, and later in the inning, it was looking like the Reds were going to need all those runs.
