The Good
–First big league start for Brandon Finnegan, who was acquired from Kansas City in the Johnny Cueto trade, and it went pretty well. He pitched five strong innings, allowing one run on three hits and two walks, with three strikeouts. Finnegan tossed 75 pitches, which equals his longest outing since college. Showed some real promise. I’ll take it.
–Todd Frazier was 2-5 with a double and an RBI. Skip Schumaker had a couple of hits (though he did make an error). Jason Bourgeois and Jay Bruce each hit homers.
–Tucker Barnhart was 0-1 with three walks.
