WASHINGTON -- Scott Schebler returned to the Reds from his rehab assignment on Friday, but interim manager Jim Riggleman said Schebler may not be activated off the disabled list until September because of throwing issues.
Schebler, who landed on the disabled list July 18 with a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder, is back from Triple-A Louisville because his 20-day rehab limit ended. After Schebler rests his arm for about a week, Riggleman expects that the 27-year-old will go on another rehab stint before returning to the Reds.
Schebler served as the designated hitter in six of his seven rehab games with Louisville.
