A little more than a month after Thom Brennaman was suspended for using a homophobic slur during a Cincinnati Reds broadcast, Brennaman confirmed to The Enquirer that he resigned from his job with the Reds and Fox Sports Ohio.
Brennaman apologized for the slur during the Fox Sports Ohio broadcast on Aug. 19, and then wrote a letter that was published in The Enquirer:
"I cannot erase what I have done," Brennaman wrote. "The only thing I can do is humbly apologize, accept the consequences of my actions and resolve to be better and behave differently from now on.
